Anyone have a guess on what a Volt will actually sell for after dealer prep, surcharge, pinstrip upgrade fee, of course dealers just adding thousands since they will be a novelty at first? It would be nice to hear exactly what each of the first 2000 actuall go for. I have an opening bit for $42000, do I hear $43000. Hey I drove all the way from the midwest just to bid on one of these.

Wow this is great. Why would Americans such as the few above complain about a great piece of American Technology bringing new Jobs to Americans? Sour Grapes. Shut of Fox TV for a while and take more mature perspective. This is a good thing.

Is the 2011 Volt an electric car or is it a hybrid? I have seen writeups saying that it has a gasoline engine to keep up the charge. I recently purchased a 2007 Prius and took it on a 1000 mile trip. the 45 mpg mileage was great. If the Volt has a gasoline engine recharge capability, it will make a wonderful Auto. Too bad it did not come out in the early 2000's; I might have had one. I like the idea of a lithium battery. I really would have been excited if I could have BOUGHT an EV-1, back in the 1990's. Let me know if this is an electric car only, or is it a true hybrid. Thanks.

Notice that the OnStar is incorporated ready set for" tax by the mile policy "in the near future--How many urban Dwellers-(Target market of this type of transportation) will have electricity available--on the street or parking lot? I'm sure a majority can't park their car near a "plug-in" BTW I live in MInn-- At 20 deg below What is the range their while keeping me warm while I drive?
I can show multiple of logical, economic, and scientific reasons that show why this as a Fools project
excitement, 5 cup holders, fancy stereo's and bluetooth can't cover up the fact this is a folly at a true price of $41.000 this is no bargain it can't reach economic viability

"This is a FAILURE That only lives in the "government mentality" of subsidies-- will never succeed in the "real" world of true economics BTW: Electricity isn't free--- IF this is successful the Electric Grid will be compromised and watch for Taxes by the mile or new TAXES ON ELECTRICITY FOR TRANSPORTATION-- TO PAY FOR ROADS

Thanks much to Tony & Tony for making this clip. Was highly informative and fun to watch. Have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the first production vehicles. So anxiously in fact that when my 2008 Impala LT got totalled by a pickup truck during one of our northern Indiana ice storms, this past winter I was pretty depressed that I'd have to go out and get something other than the Volt that I'd been salivating after. As it turned out, I picked up one of the last new 2009 Impala LTs. It's a great car, but now the wife will probably insist I wait for a 2012 or 2013 Volt. :(
One thing that concerns me is that I have a family and have yet to see a decent view of the back seat of a Volt. That being the case, have been unable to decide whether this car will actually work for us. While I don't expect the back to be as roomy as that in the Impala LT, it would be good to be able to at least see a few photos for comparison. Thanks again guys, great job!
