Hell no!, Chevron (ovonic) never had any intention of making batteries for EV's. They bought the patent and sat on it for as long as possible. These are likely LiFEPO4 packs from presumably an American supplier. You can drive all day long, pull as much current as you want and the pack stays at room temp. Very thermally stable. I have these in my EV. It's highly unlikely these packs will fail in the first 150k miles. I think people will be quite surprised by how long they will last.

what is going to be the cost of the focas? what is the life of the battery in miles and years? when will they be sold in mexico? why was europe first to get electric cars sold to public? please respond

I echo the words of Mike. All we saw was a bunch of people instaling wires and screws that absoluted not need a very espensive and automated plant we saw. If GM thinks the Volt will be a big seller, it is really wrong. The new electric vehicles that will hit stores by Ford, BMW, Tesla and independent third party companies by 2012,2013, will be much better and even cheaper.

What I thought would be an interesting video turned out to be useless. After watching it I still didn't see anything. Don't speed the video up. Let me see what the battery looks like.

Now, I am interested in an EV because my driving is well suited to the car. But lets talk about what a replacement battery is going to cost. I will face this expense either directly or indirectly.
